Wet N Wild has released 4 shades of loose pigments with their Limited Edition Sequins and Stardust Collection. The pigments are a great addition, unfortunately they are limited edition, and I hope they make pigments part of their permanent line! At $2.99 (US), they are an affordable addition to your makeup kit.
These shades have a nice soft shimmer, apply softly and don’t have any thick course glitter to them. As with most pigments, they work best over an eye shadow base, like a MAC paintpot, Maybelline tattoo, or any other creamy base. There is some fallout when applying, so keep that in mind. Overall, I found they wore very well, and have great pigmentation. There is an issue with the packaging and application which I will discuss, but first a look at the shade swatches:
The pigments are packaged in a cute little jar, that has both a sifter with lid, and a black lid on top. It is nice that there is a sifter, as it prevents the pigments from flying everywhere when it’s opened. BUT, if you shake some pigment up through the sifter, it’s next to impossible for the pigment to get back into the jar, because of lack of indentation at the sifter level (see pic below). Any pigment left at this level, will make for a bit of a mess. It is best to apply some pigment to your hand, a bit at a time, as to not waste so much product, and in return keep the sifter area clean of excess product.
Overall I really like these pigments. I like the shades and the formula. I find the shades are perfect for the Fall season! And pigments are a fun addition, as they can be used in many different ways.
