Finally, after what seemed like an eternity of winter weather, spring has sprung and it’s time for flowers, and green grass and pastels and PINK!! And speaking of PINK, L’Oreal Paris has finally released its anticipated La Vie En Rose Collection, their “iconic collection of velvet matte pink lipsticks, inspired by their L’Oréal Paris Ambassadors to provide pink perfection with a velvet smooth texture and delicate matte finish“. The Exclusive Pinks are tailored for every woman, offering a perfect match for every skin tone. There are 8 Celebrity Ambassadors, all representing different skin tones, for which their shade was developed. Past collections by L’Oreal include the Collection Privee Nudes, and the Signature Pure Reds Collection, both of which have been hugely popular, and no doubt this collection will be as well. The collection includes 8 lipsticks, and 8 nail polishes. Today, I have 4 of the lipsticks to share with you!
As per the Collection Exclusive lipsticks in the past, they are packaged in the gorgeous matte black tubes with gold accents. Very chic looking <3. These lipsticks are all a sheer matte velvet finish. They look much brighter in the tube, but actually apply more sheer in colour. They have the usual L’Oreal scent.
- J-Lo’s Pink: A beautiful berry pink.
- Doutzen’s Pink: A bright pink lipstick with fuchsia undertones.
- Liya’s Pink: A rich, luminous Grenadian pink lipstick.
- Blake’s Pink: A radiant coral pink lipstick.
So far, after wearing these shades for a few days, I can say that they definitely have more of a velvet/satin finish vs a matte finish. They aren’t drying, or chalky on the lips, which I prefer, as I don’t like the feel of a dry matte lipstick. The colour is less intense on the lips than in the bullet, as they are described as a sheer matte. But I find the sheerness makes them more wearable. Overall, I’m impressed with the lipsticks I picked out from this collection. There are 4 more which I’ll be tempted to get as well. The others are:
Julianne’s Pink, Eva’s Pink, Zoe’s Pink and Freida’s Pink.
They are currently available across the US, and should be in Canadian stores in May.
Will you be joining in the #pinkobsession? Which shades are you looking forward to?
