New Essence Liquid Lipsticks

IMG_0031

Shoppers Drug Mart in Canada and Target in the US have expanded their product selection from Essence, which leaves us with access to more affordable products from this great drugstore brand.  Recently I picked up a couple of their new (to us) Liquid Lipsticks.  They are available in 6 shades, and I chose Make a Statement and Beauty Secret.

This new formula from Essence is a lipstick/lipgloss hybrid which combines the best of both a lipstick and lipgloss giving the coverage of a lipstick with the moisturizing shine of a gloss.

They come with a doe foot applicator and the clear packaging allows you to see the true colour of the product.  They are highly pigmented, giving the coverage of a lipstick, and quite glossy, giving a shiny glossy look.  It does feel somewhat tacky and sticky, and can be a bit streaky when first applied.  I recommend that you apply lightly at first and then build up.  It doesn’t feel dry on my lips, and is comfy and moisturizing, and wears for about 2 to 3 hours.

There is a fruity taste to the product, and a slight scent, so if you are sensitive to scents and tastes, you may want to avoid this product.  Overall, I feel that Essence has once again provided us with a great inexpensive  hybrid lipstick that delivers!
