Maybelline has a new Nudes to add to the family, The Rock Nudes:
Dare to rock nude with this 12-shade eye shadow palette edited for edge. Sultry, brooding, daring-whatever your mood demands, this 12-shade palette will deliver the ultimate smoky rock nude look. From maddening matte black to knock out navy, bring out your inner rockstar. Edited for edge, from heavy metal to quietly quartz, dare to rock nude.
The palette offers a variety of light and dark eye shadows in a variety of textures, including matte, satin and shimmers. Perfect for winter and smokey eyes in a primarily cool toned palette.
The packaging is matte black with silver writing. Once again, there are suggestions on the back of the palette for looks using the shades in quads, trios or duos. This is consistent with their other Nude Palettes. It also comes with a 2 sided sponge applicator brush.
I know that the other palettes in the Nude family from Maybelline haven’t all received stellar reviews from the beautybloger world, but I have always been a fan of them. Sure there are a few duds in each palette, but not all the shadows are a bust. I have said this before and practice this myself when using the Maybelline Nudes palettes… YOU NEED TO USE A PRIMER! And really….who doesn’t use an eyeshadow primer now a days anyway?! I think if you keep that in mind, these palettes are great substitutes for anyone who can’t afford the expensive brands or don’t have access to them.

All shades over primer:
Overall it’s a fun palette and I love enough of the colours to justify purchasing it. That blue shade (top row, second from left), makes an amazing smokey blue eye look! So if these colours appeal to you I say go for it. But remember, this is not Urban Decay or MAC, and the price will reflect that point. This is a pretty good palette, that has an affordable price point, that works best and benefits from a primer. Let me know what you think!
