Maybelline The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara Review

I always get really excited when a drugstore brand releases a new mascara.  I’m kind of a mascara junkie.  I have bought so many and then, unfortunately for the most part am left disappointed with their performance.  But Maybelline’s Lash Sensational Mascara has been my favorite mascara, and I’ve been using it religiously since it’s release.  But alas, Maybelline has a new mascara out, The Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara, and I’ve been using it for the last week and am ready to review it here for you .

First up, the packaging is gorgeous.  I love, love, love the colors used!  It almost looks like a dual ended mascara with the 2 ends of different color and sizes.

The pink end houses the product, while the red end contains the wand.  The wand is described as  a “push up cup brush with cup shaped bristles” that promises to scoop and lift lashes.

This push up cup brush is designed to scoop lashes up at the root and pull them forward for volume and length.  Maybelline also describes this as a new creamy plumping formula.

I really like this mascara!  It definitely lengthens my lashes, but I wouldn’t say it adds a lot of volume. Also, this is a very creamy formula and it does apply wet and dries slow.  But, I prefer a wet mascara and I think this is why I love the Lash Sensational as well.  I’ve noticed when applying the mascara I do feel the cup shaped bristles scoop up my lashes and that gives me a lot of length, which I love, as I feel I already have pretty good volume.  I’ve noticed no flaking or smearing with all day wear.  As well, my lashes feel soft, not sticky or weighed down.  I also found that one good coat is better than 2, as the formula does get a bit clumpy because it’s so  creamy and thick.  If you like to apply a couple of coats, or apply your mascara real thick, you will run into trouble with clumping.

So I give it a thumbs up and recommend it.  However, if you hate a wet mascara or are looking for one that gives volume, I’d suggest you skip this one, as it creates more length than volume.
