NYX Highlight & Contour Pro Palette

I’ll admit I am not much of a contour & highlight girl.  I’m not saying I have natural “to die for” cheekbones!  It’s just one part of my makeup routine that I rarely do.  My friend however, has made it a mission to have me contouring & high lightening like a pro.  So, after I heard that NYX was to release a contour & highlight kit, I decided I’d proceed with that purchase as it retails for $24.99 US and was easiest for me to purchase.

The palette consists of 8 powder shades.  4 highlight shades and 4 contour shades.  The pans are big & provide a lot of product, with each pan weighing in at 0.09 oz, for a total of 2.7 grams.

The shades are interchangeable and replaceable.  They can be removed from the palette very easily by popping them out.

The highlight shades have a mix of 2 shimmers and 2 mattes: a pearly pale white, matte nude, matte soft yellow and a pearly pearly soft peach.

The contour shades consist of 4 matte shades: matte soft brown with slight red undertone, matte neutral brown, matte taupe and a matte deep brown.

The back of the box has a great guide on where to highlight & contour.

Overall there is a great selection of shades, all of which have great pigmentation and color payoff.  The highlight shades can be a bit powdery but no big deal, just be sure to tap off your brush before applying.  It’s a great inexpensive palette for anyone, including beginners like me!  I love that the pans are interchangeable, as there are a couple of shades that don’t work for me, but work for my friend, so we are planning on switching a few with each other.

What do you think?  Have you tried the palette out?

So glad you loved this because I have heard some things about this product that people don’t like and they say that getting the Anastasia contour palette is worth the money! I hope one of my coworkers gets it because of your awesome review ♥

I’ve never used this nor have I ever tried contouring. I don’t have the time to spend on another step. But I do think it’s really neat. Good luck to you using it. I hope you do a post on your thought when you do use it. 🙂

Thank you 🙂 So far I’m liking it. I find they work well as eyeshadows too!

I’m impressed that you got your hands on one of these! Thanks for posting the swatches; it’s a bit too yellow-toned for me!
