Rimmel Provocalips Review

Rimmel has a new innovation called Provocalips.    Rimmel claims:

Provocalips is kiss proof, food proof and trouble proof, as no trace of colour is left behind A 2 step lip colour that gives youintense colour and lasts for 16 hours“.

Hmm….seem to good to be true?  Haven’t other brands and products made this promise, but didn’t keep?  Well lets look into what is involved here.

One side of the tube, step 1, contains the lip colour, which is housed in the tube that closely matches the lip colour.  The other side of the tube, step 2, which contains a clear gloss, is housed in a lip embossed tube…….very cute!

The lip colour is a thin, runny lip lacquer which is very pigmented.  It has a doe foot applicator which makes it easy to apply, but it does pick up a lot of product, so wipe excess off.  It goes on feeling wet, but will set within a minute.  Tip: keep your lips apart while they dry.  After the colour has set, your lips will feel a bit tacky and sticky…… you can now move onto step 2!  Step 2 consists of a clear gloss top coat.  Apply the gloss and it will add some shine and seal the deal.  You will not need to add any colour to your lips AT ALL throughout the day.  It is nice to re-apply the clear gloss top coat to add some sheen & moisturize your lips.

Here are some pics to show you how the Provocalips lasted throughout my day.  Here I am wearing the shade Make Your Move.  I applied this colour at 9 am, and did not apply anymore colour throughout the day.  I did apply the Lock & Load gloss after applying the lipstick and then once again after lunch.  The picture at bedtime is taken after I have brushed my teeth and washed my face!

I am seriously impressed with this lip product!  I have tried other lip products that promise long lasting wear, but they always felt so uncomfortable and drying on my lips. Not to mention, the colour never truly lasted and accentuated any dryness on my lips.  But the Provocalips feel so comfortable on the lips.  There is no dry or tight feeling with this product.  The colour payoff is fantastic and the longevity of the colour is incredible.  There. Is. No. Colour. Transfer. Period!!  Go ahead, drink that coffee…..eat that meal……smooch with your man!!  The colour WILL stay on your lips!  I LOVE this product and give it an A+.

Available now in Europe, hopefully they will be available soon in Canada and the US.

Until next time…..

I swatched one of the colours in the drugstore about a week ago and 2 days later it was still on my hand after I tried to wash it off. I was so impressed about the staying power that I went out and bought 3 colours!

Wow the staying power seems amazing! Do you have any trouble taking it off at the end of the day because it’s so long-lasting?

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that. At the end of the day it came off with my Bioderma and some scrubbing…..I purchased an oil based makeup remover & that worked perfectly 🙂

Oh good to know! I am always weary about super long lasting product because I feel like it would be painful trying to scrub them off at the end of the day. Good to know that it’s easily removed with oil based makeup remover! Thanks! 🙂
