Oh Maybelline…Oh Maybelline, you’ve done it again. Another great collection released, causing mayhem and frenzy in my world. Stalking the aisles at Rite Aid and Walgreens, waiting patiently (not really) for its arrival. I was lucky enough to find the collection at Rite Aid and picked up what I wanted. For all my Canadian beauty followers, I have heard via Instagram, that the collection has been spotted at various pharmacies, so keep at eye out for them.
This collection includes SIX Limited Edition Color Tattoo Eyeshadows, One Master High-Light Blush and Bronzer, Four Eyeshadow Quads, Four New “In the Buff “Lipsticks, Two Master Glaze Blush Sticks, several Nail polishes and Color Elixirs as well. It is quite a big collection!
I absolutely love the Maybelline Color Tattoos and use them regularly as either a base for my eyeshadow or quite frequently on their own. They are comparable to MAC paintpots and are much cheaper! They wear very well and I’m able to get about 8 hours of wear before I see creasing, and I have semi-oily lids.
A light, pink- beige with a golden sheen.Works nicely as a base for shadows or alone. It’s quite opaque on the skin. I did however, notice this one creased much earlier than the rest.
A golden champagne with shimmer. It is quite sheer and not as opaque as Pure Nude. It definitely has sparkle and shimmer. It’s my least favorite because I’m not a fan of sparkle & shimmer.
A cool-toned taupe-brown. The color payoff is great! It wears very well. I got through the day with little creasing. It does have a metallic finish.
A warm-toned, reddish-brown taupe. In the pot it looks almost alike to Nude Compliment but once applied, you can see it’s a warmer color with the reddish undertone. It applies very well and it also has a metallic finish. I got through my day with little creasing as well.
A warm-toned, coppery orange. It too has great pigmentation and color payoff. It has a frosty metallic finish. Wears well throughout the day with little to no creasing.
Matte Black with iridescent glitter. This color was a surprise because you don’t notice the tiny glitter particles until that first swatch. Unfortunatley, this one is a fail. It’s very dry and difficult to apply, and doesn’t sheer out very well. I’d recommend skipping this one.
Here are some swatches applied with my finger:
Pure Nude, Beige-ing Beauty, Nude Compliment, Sleek 7 Spice, Caramel Cool, and Stroke of Midnight.
Here are the lipsticks released with this collection:
Nude Embrace is a cool mauve (& my favorite). It is quite a unique color. It’s a cool mauve but also has a very light lavender shade to it as well. Very hard to describe….that’s why I think it’s so unique!
This is the Highlight Blush and Bronzer:
There were 4 eyeshadow quads released, but seeing as I have WAY to many eye shadows, I decided to just get one quad:
Overall, I think it’s a great collection, and would work for a variety of skin tones. I definitely would recommend the color tattoos the most. They have been confirmed as Limited Edition, so if you see them grab them up……with the exception of Stroke of Midnight 😦
The lipsticks are great as well and I would recommend Nude Embrace & Ravishing Rose.
As for the eye shadow quads, hi-light powder and the nail polishes….too me they didn’t really stand out. I didn’t get any of the Color Elixer Lip Glosses as I just am not a fan of glosses and only own and wear a few so I decided to skip on them.
Hope this helps with deciding on what you’ll get when & if you find it in your local drugstores. Remember….LOTS of LOVE for the Tattoos!!
Until next time……
