I cannot say enough good things about this collection. It was originally released in Canada in September 2013, as part of the official Toronto Film Festival (TIFF) Collection, as L’Oreal Paris was the Official Sponsor, and, L’Oreal collaborated with female celebrities to create L’Oréal CollectionPrivée.
There were four collaborations with L’Oreal available in Canada and they were: The Doutzen Nude, The Eva Nude, The J Lo Nude and The Freida Nude. I happened to come across them unexpectedly while at Shoppers last fall and have been kicking myself ever since for not picking up all the colors. I did pick up the J Lo Nude and J Lo Nude Nail polish along with the Eva Nude Lipstick. I was so impressed, I wanted the others, but when I returned, they had already been sold out. Very sad …..LOL.
Exciting news!! They have been released in the US with Six collaborations. They are: Julianne’s Nude, Frieda’s Nude, Eva’s Nude, Doutzen’s Nude, J Lo’s Nude and Liya’s Nude. The nail polishes showed up first, and I was able to grab a couple and I have heard that the lipsticks are now appearing on shelves. They are on my “want” list for my next cross border shopping trip. In the meantime, I thought I’d share some pics and swatches of what I have.
I’m going to say that this is one of my all time favorite drugstore releases. The lipstick packaging is just down right gorgeous. It looks so rich and luxurious for a drugstore brand with the signature of the celebrity printed in gold. And don’t worry….it not all about the way it looks. The lipsticks are very moisturizing, nicely pigmented with a wear time of 2-3 hours. The downfall to the lipsticks are the scent. It’s somewhat of a floral scent, but in all honesty, I fail to notice it for very long….perhaps because I am loving the colours too much?!
The nail polishes are impressive as well. They have great color payoff and are practically opaque with one coat. In the pics I have on 2 thin coats, but in all honesty, when I wear them, I only apply one heavy coat.
Look for them in your local Drugstore. I know I will be on the look out for them. Let me know if you’ve tried them and what you think of them.
Thanks for stopping by….until next time,
